NSF and ZDHC Certified PDADMAC Coagulant for Professional Water Treatment

BLUWAT High Charge Density Poly(Dimethyl Diallyl Ammonium Chloride), also known as PolyDADMAC or PDADMAC, is a liquid cationic polymer coagulant designed for water treatment, wastewater clarification, color removal and sludge dewatering.

With NSF and ZDHC certification, this product is suitable for customers who require both reliable coagulation performance and stronger chemical compliance. It can be used in drinking water treatment, municipal wastewater, textile wastewater, industrial effluent, paper mill wastewater, mining water clarification and other solid-liquid separation processes.

As a high charge density cationic polymer, PDADMAC works mainly through charge neutralization. It helps destabilize negatively charged suspended particles, colloids, organic matter and color-causing substances, allowing them to form larger flocs and separate more easily.

    Product Overview

BLUWAT BLU DA Series PDADMAC is supplied as a colorless to light yellow liquid with 20% to 50% solid content. It is available in different viscosity and molecular weight grades to meet different application conditions.

The liquid form makes it easy to dilute, pump and dose in automatic dosing systems. It can be used alone as a primary organic coagulant or combined with inorganic coagulants such as Polyaluminium Chloride to improve treatment performance.

    Key Advantages

NSF Certified for Water Treatment Applications

For drinking water treatment projects, chemical certification is an important factor in product selection. BLUWAT PDADMAC is available with NSF certification, supporting customers who need certified coagulants for water clarification and turbidity control.

ZDHC Certified for Textile and Industrial Supply Chains

For textile wastewater and dyeing effluent treatment, ZDHC certification helps customers meet stricter chemical management requirements. This makes BLUWAT PDADMAC suitable for textile mills, dyeing factories, washing plants and supply chains where chemical compliance matters.

High Charge Density for Strong Coagulation

PDADMAC has a high cationic charge density. This allows it to quickly neutralize negatively charged impurities in water, improve particle destabilization and support stronger floc formation.

Effective for Turbidity and Color Reduction

In wastewater containing suspended solids, colloids or color-causing substances, PDADMAC helps improve clarification. It can be used for turbidity reduction, color removal support and overall effluent quality improvement.

    Easy-to-Use Liquid Polymer

Liquid PDADMAC is convenient for daily operation. It can be diluted before use, pumped by dosing equipment and applied continuously in water treatment plants or industrial wastewater systems.

Can Be Used Alone or with PAC

PDADMAC can be used as a standalone coagulant or together with Polyaluminium Chloride. In many treatment systems, the combination helps improve floc strength, settling speed and treatment stability.

    Helps Improve Sludge Dewatering

By improving floc structure and solid-liquid separation, PDADMAC can support sludge conditioning and dewatering performance in filter press, belt press, centrifuge or other sludge treatment systems.

    Main Applications

    Drinking Water Treatment

NSF certified PDADMAC can be used for drinking water clarification, turbidity reduction and suspended solids removal. It helps form stable flocs and improves the efficiency of sedimentation and filtration processes.

    Municipal Wastewater Treatment

In municipal wastewater treatment plants, PDADMAC can support primary clarification, sludge conditioning and solid-liquid separation. It helps improve floc formation and supports more stable plant operation.

    Textile Wastewater and Color Removal

Textile dyeing and printing wastewater often contains dyes, surfactants, colloids and fine suspended particles. ZDHC certified PDADMAC is suitable for textile wastewater systems that require both color removal support and chemical compliance. It can be used together with decolorizing agent, PAC and PAM depending on wastewater type and treatment target.

    Industrial Effluent Clarification

For chemical plants, food processing plants, metal finishing wastewater, paper mills and other industrial effluent systems, PDADMAC helps destabilize fine particles and improve clarification.

Paper Making and Paper Mill Wastewater

PDADMAC can be used in paper-making related water systems and paper mill wastewater treatment to support charge neutralization, suspended solids removal and sludge handling.

    Mining Water Clarification

In mining wastewater and process water clarification, PDADMAC can help remove fine suspended solids and improve water reuse efficiency.

    Sludge Dewatering

PDADMAC supports sludge conditioning before dewatering equipment. It can help improve floc structure and make sludge-water separation more efficient.

    How PDADMAC Works

Many suspended solids and colloidal particles in water carry negative surface charges. These charges keep particles dispersed and prevent them from settling naturally.

PDADMAC provides strong positive charges. After being added into water, it neutralizes the negative charges on particles and colloids. Once the particles lose their stability, they can gather into larger flocs.

These flocs can then be separated by sedimentation, dissolved air flotation, filtration or dewatering equipment.

This makes PDADMAC an effective coagulant for turbidity control, effluent clarification, color removal support and sludge dewatering.

    Recommended Dosing Method

For water treatment, PDADMAC can be used together with Polyaluminium Chloride for treatment of turbid river water, tap water and industrial wastewater.

When used alone, it is recommended to dilute the product to 0.5% to 5% concentration based on solid content before dosing.

The actual dosage depends on water turbidity, wastewater composition, color concentration, suspended solids level, pH value and target effluent quality. Jar testing is recommended before full-scale use.

The dosing point and mixing speed should be carefully controlled. The chemical should be mixed evenly with water, but excessive shear should be avoided after flocs are formed.

    Typical Treatment Process

1 Test raw water or wastewater quality
    2 Adjust pH if necessary
3 Add PDADMAC or PDADMAC with PAC
4 Rapid mix for even dispersion
5 Slow mix to form larger flocs
6 Separate flocs by sedimentation, DAF or filtration
7 Optimize dosage according to final effluent result

For difficult color wastewater, PDADMAC may be used with decolorizing agent, PAC and PAM to achieve better color and turbidity removal.
