Oilfield Grade Polyacrylamide Supplier for Drilling Fluid and Fluid Loss Control
Product Introduction
Oilfield Grade Polyacrylamide is a water-soluble polymer used in oil and gas field applications, especially in drilling fluid systems, fluid loss control, shale stabilization, viscosity improvement, lubrication, and enhanced oil recovery.
For oilfield drilling, the drilling mud system must remain stable under changing formation and water conditions. It needs to carry drill cuttings, control filtrate loss, protect shale formations, reduce friction, and maintain proper viscosity. Polyacrylamide and PHPA products help improve these functions and support safer, more efficient drilling operations.
Bluwat PHPA series are anionic water-soluble polymers with different molecular weights. According to Bluwat’s PHPA TDS, they are mainly used as highly efficient fluid loss reducers, viscosifiers, and protective colloids for shale and cuttings in fresh water, calcium brine, sodium brine, and KCL mud systems. They can be used for shale stabilization, viscosity improvement, friction reduction, fluid loss control, and lubrication.

Key Functions in Drilling Fluid and Fluid Loss Control
1. Fluid Loss Control
Oilfield grade PHPA can reduce excessive fluid loss from drilling mud into the formation. It helps maintain lower mud cake permeability and reduce filtrate invasion, which supports borehole stability and formation protection.
2. Shale Stabilization
PHPA acts as a protective colloid for shale and cuttings. It helps prevent shale swelling and erosion, reducing the risk of borehole instability, sloughing shale, stuck pipe, and hole enlargement.
3. Drilling Mud Viscosity Improvement
Polyacrylamide improves drilling mud viscosity and supports cuttings suspension. Stable viscosity is important for hole cleaning and drilling fluid circulation.
4. Solids Suspension
Oilfield PAM helps suspend drill cuttings, clay particles, and fine solids. This improves cuttings carrying capacity and reduces solids settling in the borehole.
5. Lubrication and Friction Reduction
PHPA can be absorbed on metal or clay particle surfaces to form a liquid film. This helps reduce friction, lower drilling resistance, and improve mud lubricity.
6. Drilling Mud Stability
PHPA improves mud stability, reduces water loss, prevents sticking, and supports higher drilling efficiency.
7. Compatibility with Mud Additives
Bluwat PHPA is compatible with many drilling fluid products, including biopolymers, PAC, and CMC, making it suitable for different drilling mud formulations.
