Product Overview
PDADMAC, also known as PolyDADMAC or Poly(dimethyl diallylammonium chloride), is a liquid cationic polymer with strong charge neutralization ability. It is widely used in wastewater treatment, sludge dewatering, industrial clarification, mining water treatment, and solid-liquid separation processes.
Bluwat PDADMAC 40% Liquid Conditioner is designed for sludge conditioning before mechanical dewatering equipment such as belt filter press, filter press, screw press, and centrifuge systems. In belt filter press operation, sludge often contains colloidal particles, organic matter, suspended solids, and high water content. Without proper chemical conditioning, sludge may have weak floc structure, poor drainage, sticky cake, high filtrate turbidity, and low dewatering efficiency.
Bluwat PDADMAC 40% Liquid Conditioner provides strong cationic charge to neutralize negatively charged sludge particles and colloids. It helps form stronger and more compact sludge flocs, improves water separation, and supports smoother belt filter press operation.

Application in Belt Filter Press Sludge Dewatering
Belt filter press dewatering requires stable floc formation and good free water release before sludge enters the gravity drainage zone and pressing zone. PDADMAC 40% Liquid Conditioner can improve sludge conditioning and help the dewatering system achieve better performance.
Typical applications include:
Key Benefits
40% Liquid Active Content for Efficient Conditioning
Bluwat PDADMAC 40% series provides 39.0–41.0% solid content, offering stable cationic polymer performance for continuous sludge conditioning systems.
High Charge Density for Sludge Destabilization
PDADMAC neutralizes negatively charged sludge particles, colloids, and suspended solids. This helps break sludge stability and promotes faster floc formation.
Better Belt Filter Press Drainage
The product supports formation of stronger sludge flocs, helping water drain more easily in the gravity section of the belt filter press.
Improved Sludge Cake Formation
Proper PDADMAC conditioning can improve sludge aggregation and support more uniform sludge cake formation during pressing.
Clearer Filtrate
By strengthening floc structure and reducing fine solids carryover, PDADMAC helps improve filtrate clarity and reduce the solids load returned to the wastewater treatment system.
Reduced Sludge Handling Load
Improved solid-liquid separation can help reduce sludge volume and support lower transportation and disposal pressure.
Easy Liquid Dosing
Liquid PDADMAC is easy to dilute, pump, and dose continuously, making it suitable for automatic dosing systems in wastewater treatment plants.
Flexible Grade Selection
Bluwat 40% PDADMAC series includes low, medium, high, and very high molecular weight grades, allowing customers to select a suitable product according to sludge type and dewatering equipment.
Working Principle
PDADMAC improves belt filter press sludge dewatering mainly through charge neutralization and floc formation. Treatment mechanism:

Application Method
For belt filter press sludge dewatering, PDADMAC 40% Liquid Conditioner should be diluted before dosing. Recommended dilution is 0.5–5%. Optimum dosage depends on sludge type, concentration, pH, and equipment design. Jar testing is highly recommended before full-scale use.
Product Selection Guidance
Fast Neutralization: DA 401 to DA 403
General Municipal/Industrial: DA 403 to DA 405
Difficult/High Organic: DA 406 to DA 408
Use with PAM
PDADMAC and PAM can be used together. PDADMAC provides charge neutralization while PAM provides polymer bridging and floc enlargement. Using PDADMAC before PAM often improves belt drainage and cake quality.
Packaging and Storage
Available in 25L, 200L plastic drums, or 1000L IBC drums. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.
