    Product Overview

Bluwat BLU DA Series Polydadmac is a liquid cationic flocculant polymer based on Poly(dimethyldiallylammonium chloride), also known as PolyDADMAC or PDADMAC. It is widely used in wastewater treatment, textile color removal, textile color fixing, sludge dewatering and industrial water clarification.

In textile effluent treatment plants, wastewater quality can change frequently because of different dye types, fabric processing methods, auxiliary chemicals, pH, salt content and production schedules. These changes often cause unstable color removal, small flocs, slow settling and poor final effluent clarity.

Polydadmac provides strong cationic charge neutralization. It helps destabilize negatively charged dye particles, colloids and suspended impurities, allowing them to form larger and more separable flocs. In an ETP system, it can be used as a primary organic coagulant or as a coagulant aid together with PAC and PAM to improve treatment stability.

This product is suitable for textile dyeing wastewater, printing wastewater, washing wastewater, finishing wastewater and mixed textile industrial effluent where color reduction and clarification are required.

How Polydadmac Works in Textile ETP

Many dyes, organic colorants and fine particles in textile effluent carry negative surface charges. These particles stay dispersed in water and are difficult to remove by simple settling.

Polydadmac has a high positive charge density. When added into wastewater, it neutralizes the negative charges on dye molecules, colloids and suspended particles. This reduces electrostatic repulsion and allows fine pollutants to gather together.

After charge neutralization, larger flocs can be formed more easily with the help of PAC or PAM. The treated water becomes clearer, and the separated sludge can be removed by sedimentation, flotation or filtration.

Recommended Treatment Process for Textile ETP

The final treatment process should be confirmed by jar test because textile wastewater conditions can vary greatly. A typical chemical treatment process may include:

Step 1: Collect representative wastewater sample from the equalization tank

Step 2: Check pH, color, turbidity and suspended solids

Step 3: Dilute Polydadmac before dosing

Step 4: Add Polydadmac and mix rapidly for charge neutralization

Step 5: Add PAC if stronger coagulation and color removal are required

Step 6: Adjust pH to the suitable range if needed

Step 7: Add diluted PAM solution to enlarge flocs

Step 8: Allow sedimentation or DAF separation

Step 9: Check treated water clarity, color and sludge condition

For continuous ETP operation, dosing pumps and mixing conditions should be adjusted according to wastewater fluctuation and treatment target.

    Use with PAC and PAM

In many textile effluent treatment plants, Polydadmac works well as part of a combined chemical treatment program.

Polydadmac helps neutralize charge and destabilize dye particles.

PAC improves coagulation, color reduction and suspended solids removal.

PAM helps form larger flocs and improves settling or flotation separation.

This combination can make the treatment process more stable, especially when wastewater color and production load change during daily operation.

    Dilution and Dosage

When used alone, Polydadmac is recommended to be diluted to 0.5–5% concentration based on solid content before dosing.

The actual dosage depends on wastewater color strength, turbidity, pH, organic load, dye type and treatment target. Laboratory jar test is recommended to confirm the most economical dosage before full scale use.

The dosing point and mixing speed are important. The chemical should be mixed evenly with wastewater, but strong mixing should be avoided after flocs are formed to prevent floc breakage.
