    Product Overview

PolyDADMAC, also known as PDADMAC or Poly(dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride), is a water-soluble cationic polymer with strong charge neutralization ability. It is widely used in mining wastewater treatment, mineral slurry clarification, sludge dewatering, and industrial water treatment systems.

In mineral processing plants, process water often contains fine ore particles, clay, flotation residues, suspended solids, and other impurities. These particles are usually difficult to settle naturally because of their fine size and stable surface charge. Poor clarification can increase turbidity, reduce water reuse efficiency, and create higher load for thickeners, settling ponds, and dewatering equipment.

Bluwat PolyDADMAC helps neutralize negatively charged particles and promotes the formation of larger flocs. This improves settling speed, overflow water clarity, thickening performance, and process water recycling efficiency.

Application in Mineral Processing Water Recycling

Water recycling is essential for modern mineral processing operations. Reusing clarified water can reduce fresh water consumption, lower wastewater discharge, and improve overall plant efficiency. Bluwat PolyDADMAC can be used in:

    Mineral processing wastewater clarification
    Tailings water recovery
    Thickener overflow water treatment
    Fine mineral particle settling
    Ore washing water clarification
    Slurry thickening
    Settling pond treatment
Filter press and belt press pretreatment
    Suspended solids and turbidity reduction
Process water reuse in beneficiation plants

    Key Benefits

High Charge Density for Rapid Coagulation

PolyDADMAC provides strong cationic charge to neutralize negatively charged mineral particles, clay, and suspended solids. This helps destabilize fine particles and improves coagulation efficiency.

    Improved Process Water Recovery

By reducing suspended solids and turbidity, PolyDADMAC helps mineral processing plants recover clearer water for reuse in grinding, flotation, washing, and separation circuits.

    Faster Slurry Settling

The product promotes the formation of larger and denser flocs, improving settling speed in thickeners, clarifiers, and settling ponds.

    Better Thickener Overflow Quality

PolyDADMAC can improve the clarity of thickener overflow water, reducing solids carryover and supporting stable water recycling.

    Enhanced Dewatering Performance

In tailings and sludge treatment, PolyDADMAC improves floc structure and supports better water release during mechanical dewatering.

    Flexible Grade Selection

Bluwat offers 20%, 40%, 45%, and 50% liquid PolyDADMAC grades with different viscosity and molecular weight options for different mineral processing water conditions.

    Compatible with Other Treatment Chemicals

PolyDADMAC can be used alone or combined with inorganic coagulants such as Polyaluminium Chloride or with flocculants such as PAM when stronger settling or dewatering performance is required.

    Working Principle

PolyDADMAC improves mineral processing water recycling through charge neutralization and floc formation. Treatment mechanism:

Fine mineral particles and suspended solids carry negative surface charges.
PolyDADMAC provides positive charge to neutralize these particles.
    Destabilized particles begin to aggregate.
Larger flocs form and settle faster.
    Clearer overflow water is recovered.
Concentrated solids can be sent for thickening, filtration, or tailings handling.

    Recommended Treatment Process

    Mineral processing wastewater
Water quality analysis and pH check
    PolyDADMAC dilution
    PolyDADMAC dosing and rapid mixing
Optional PAM dosing for stronger floc growth
    Slow mixing for floc formation
    Sedimentation, clarification, or thickening
    Clear water recovery and recycling
    Sludge or tailings dewatering

    Application Method & Selection

For mineral processing water recycling, PolyDADMAC should be selected according to ore type, suspended solids concentration, particle size distribution, pH condition, turbidity, and treatment equipment.

When used alone, PolyDADMAC is normally diluted to 0.5–5% concentration based on solid content before dosing. The optimum dosage should be confirmed by jar testing and plant trial. Proper dosing point and mixing speed are important to ensure the product is evenly dispersed in wastewater. Excessive shear should be avoided after flocs are formed to prevent floc breakage.

For high-turbidity water with fine mineral particles, medium to high molecular weight PolyDADMAC grades can be tested first. For thickener overflow clarification, lower viscosity grades may provide faster dispersion. For slurry dewatering, higher molecular weight grades may help improve floc strength.
