Product Overview
PolyDADMAC, also known as PDADMAC or Poly(dimethyldiallylammonium chloride), is a liquid cationic polymer with strong charge neutralization ability. It is widely used in drinking water treatment, wastewater treatment, industrial clarification, sludge dewatering, mining, paper-making, textile, and oil industry applications.
In turbid river water treatment, raw water usually contains clay, silt, colloids, algae, natural organic matter, and fine suspended particles. These impurities are often negatively charged and difficult to remove by sedimentation or filtration alone.
Bluwat PolyDADMAC works as a PAC booster coagulant by improving charge neutralization and enhancing floc formation. When used with Polyaluminium Chloride, it can help produce larger, stronger, and more settleable flocs. This supports better clarification, lower turbidity, reduced filter loading, and more stable treated water quality.

Working Principle
PolyDADMAC improves PAC coagulation mainly through charge neutralization and floc strengthening. Treatment mechanism:
- Turbid river water contains negatively charged clay, silt, organic matter, algae, and colloidal particles.
- PAC begins inorganic coagulation and forms hydroxide flocs.
- PolyDADMAC provides strong cationic charge to neutralize remaining particle surface charges.
- Destabilized particles attach to PAC flocs and polymer chains.
- Larger and stronger flocs form during slow mixing.
- Flocs settle more easily in clarifiers or are removed by filtration.
- Clarified water has lower turbidity and reduced suspended solids.

Application Method & Guidance
For turbid river water purification, PolyDADMAC should be selected according to raw water turbidity, suspended solids, organic matter, algae content, pH value, temperature, PAC type, and clarification target.
Dosing: When used alone, PolyDADMAC is normally diluted to 0.5–5% concentration. When used as a PAC booster, the dosage should be optimized together with PAC through jar testing.
Selection: Low to medium viscosity for fast dispersion in medium turbidity. High molecular weight for high turbidity or difficult colloids to improve floc size.
Use with PAC
PolyDADMAC and PAC can be used together for turbid river water purification. PAC mainly provides inorganic coagulation and hydroxide floc formation, while PolyDADMAC provides strong charge neutralization and floc strengthening. Combined use improves efficiency and reduces total chemical cost.
